Leeaf conducts multi-centric international research in IVF

Leeaf is conducting comprehensive prospective research to investigate the effect of four-dimensional patient data (medical, lifestyle, environmental, and genetic) on the outcomes of ovarian stimulation for IVF and verify the effectiveness of data and algorithm-driven treatment personalisation in increasing conception success rates for infertile couples.

Our research study is multi-centric and international to account for discrepancies in environmental factors and heritage. We have successfully onboarded first clinics from the Czech Republic and Spain, with clinics from Hungary and the US to follow,” says Jan Choma, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Leeaf, who coordinates research activities and scientific efforts.

But what makes this study so unique? Identifying the importance of strategic and structured data collection to investigate factors influencing female fertility health, Leeaf advocates for data to help physicians make better decisions in fertility treatment selection.

Most of the existing algorithms in IVF are based on retrospective data. Though these algorithms are valuable, they are tainted with outdated IVF methodologies or consider a limited scope of patient data, and the underlying data is often inconsistent or incomplete. At Leeaf, we collect high quality and rich data on infertility and factors affecting fertility to help quantify infertility globally. Given the character of the data that we collect and analyse, we hope to identify new correlations,” clarifies Jan.

Preliminary results are expected in the second half of 2023.
